In THE JOINT AND SEVERAL LIQUIDATORS OF JOY RICH DEVELOPMENT LTD v. CHEN MUHUA (also known as WINKY CHAN) AND ANOTHER; Reported in: [2022] 5 HKLRD 1021,  the Court originally granted leave to a contributory to carry on the defence of a litigation brought against the company in liquidation. The original liquidators have since then be removed by the Court, and the current Liquidators seek to take over the conduct of the litigation.  The application was refused by the Court. 

On the Liquidator’s application, Harris J granted leave to the Liquidators to appeal to the Court of Appeal against the Court’s decision.
