Kennis Tai

Kennis was called to the Bar in 1999 and has developed a broad range of trial and appellate work in criminal and civil matters, including securities law, company and shareholders disputes, insolvency, general commercial and contractual disputes. She has appeared in all levels of Courts in Hong Kong as well as in various specialist tribunals.

Kennis regularly advises in listing and compliance matters and makes submission to the Stock Exchange Hong Kong and the Securities and Futures Commission. She is also  instructed in handling regulatory offences and white collar crime cases. Recently, she is engaged to advise as an expert of the local corporate laws in Mainland litigation.

She has been appointed to sit on various administrative and quasi-judicial boards and tribunals, including the Torture Claims Appeal Board, Appeal Tribunal (Housing). In 2018, she was appointed as the Chairman of the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings), She acquired considerable experience in handling criminal trials of various complexity from her previous appointment as a Deputy Magistrate in Hong Kong.

Outside practice, Kennis is also active in charity work with underprivileged children.

Kennis was also the Legal Editor of Hong Kong Cases and Hong Kong Public Law Reports between 2000-2007.
