Rachel Ronald and Kasper Fan recently participated in the South Eastern Circuit, Tim Dutton CBE KC, Advanced International Advocacy Course, held at Keble College, Oxford from 24 to 29 August 2026.

The Course, popularly known as the Keble Course, is an intensive 5-day residential programme which spans case analysis, witness examination, handling expert evidence (featuring medical doctors from London and accounting experts from Deloitte), oral and written appellate advocacy, and closing submissions. Bringing together practitioners from 15 jurisdictions worldwide – ranging from junior counsel to silks – participants worked in small groups under the guidance of distinguished trainers, including Court of Appeal and High Court judges, leading silks, and seasoned advocates from across the common law world, including S.W. Lee.

S.W. served as a trainer on the course, while Rachel and Kasper attended as participants, training under Kama Melly KC and Heidi Stonecliffe KC respectively. The week culminated in a mock trial before a real jury, where both Rachel and Kasper successfully secured acquittals for their respective clients.

S.W., Rachel, and Kasper are grateful to the Hong Kong Advocacy Training Council and the Charles Ching Memorial Scholarship for generously sponsoring their attendance.
